I haven't posted in a year life has been pretty crazy and hectic! We moved a couple times and I tried out a few different jobs before ultimately deciding I still wanted to be home with my sweet boy. We have alot of exciting changes coming up in our life this year and I can't wait to shar them all!
Being a parent is hard work. Sometimes you just need some motivation to see that your 24/7 effort is enough. Social media is a constant reminder of how seemingly perfect everyone else's lives are and it makes getting down on yourself just that much easier. It's so easy to tell someone else that no one is perfect but what about ourselves? Sometimes we just need simple reminders that we are all amazing mothers and setbacks or mistakes don't define us!
This morning I sat down with my morning cup of happiness with a splash of yum and realized i never wrote down my newyears goals or resolutions. I always have an idea in mind of what I want to come but i do so much better when i write it down. Being able to actually see it brings some accountability to my goals. Some goals are very specific while others are more broad but i think its important to be able to streamline them as time progresses.
Yay! We got our wedding pictures back a couple weeks ago and I'm still so in love with them! So of course I wanted to share them with everyone. I planned my wedding from start to finish and truly loved it which is why I started an event planning business. I wasn't the little girl who was obsessed with weddings but around the time pinterest became popular I realized how amazing they were.
Let me start by saying that I absolutely love Christmas. For me Christmas is all about family. Whether it's watching your favorite Christmas movie on the couch with your family or getting together for a delicious feast. Christmas is not all about the gifts but let be honest who doesn't love seeing the happy faces on their little ones face when they open up the thing they've wanted all year or your mom's face when she opens up the DIY best grandma ever sign you spent hours making.
For me Thanksgiving has always been all about family. Until I was 19 years old all but a couple Thanksgivings were spent in Maine at my grandparents house. I still get a little nostalgic and honestly sad because we no longer go up to Maine. I have a big group of cousins as well as my sisters who would all hang out every year while the moms helped cook and the dads would watch the Cowboys game. I will never forget those special memories but in a positive light I can now create new memories and traditions with my son.
I’m the type to person who plans out every single person's gift months in advance. Hubby and me already have two layaways for Keigan one at Burlington Coat Factory for clothes and another at Walmart for Radio Flyer 4 in 1 trike. Hubby wanted to get him the bike but to be honest I don’t think he is nearly coordinated enough to ride a bike on his own even though the age starts at 1.5 years. So that being said he will be just about 18 months on Christmas and I don’t even know if he will even understand it yet so that will probably be the extent of his gifts from us.
I'll be honest I was among the skeptical when I first heard of baby led weaning but I am so glad we gave it a try! Being a new mom i have never even heard of it until i joined a couple mom groups on Facebook. Until hearing about baby led weaning I planned on making all of Keigans foods for him because I truly wanted to give him the best start possible.
I'm Ashley a stay at home mom to my sweet boy Keigan and married to the love of my life Brandon. When I'm not blogging you can catch me chasing keigan around, scrapbooking or snuggling on the couch with hubby.
